Morocco’s Taghazout Resort Gears Up for Summer Tourism Rebound

As part of the relaunch of activities for the 2021 summer season, the seaside resort of Taghazout is mobilizing. This site, considered "unique in its kind" and "best seaside destination", is waiting to welcome its first tourists.
With the easing of restrictive measures recently announced, hoteliers are finally smiling again. "We are reassured about the recovery of the situation in the coming months, first in view of the current health conditions in Morocco (reduced number of cases and progress of the vaccination campaign) and in the world (vaccination campaigns, gradual opening of borders and resumption of flights, adoption of vaccination passports...)", said Pascal Leprou, CEO of the 1st Hyatt Regency Resort, which is preparing to open its doors in a few days in Taghazout Bay, reports L’Économiste.
It is the wind of optimism that is blowing, on the eve of the summer season, even if the arrival of Moroccans living abroad and foreign tourists is not yet a certainty. However, "we are convinced that this situation is an opportunity to create links with local tourists and Moroccans living abroad that we will target through adapted and attractive offers," stressed the head of the Hyatt Regency Resort. In addition, the recovery is timely, with the ambitious tourism recovery plan presented by the ONMT last April and which aims to give new impetus to national and international tourism.
The professionals in the sector are not necessarily expecting a good summer season but the recovery will at least allow them to prepare for the fall season and the end-of-year holidays. It should be noted that the seaside resort of Taghazout is located at the heart of the golden triangle of Morocco and is part of the Azur plan, with an area of 615 hectares on the seafront. Taghazout Bay consists of several high-end tourist and residential hotels and has a Beach club, a medina in addition to golf, tennis, surfing and football academies.
