Morocco and Turkey Explore Military Industry Collaboration, King Mohammed VI Signals

Morocco could count on Turkey to achieve its goals regarding the manufacture of military weapons on its territory. The subject was raised in a congratulatory message from King Mohammed VI to President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
In this message sent on the sidelines of the celebration of Turkey’s national holiday, the Moroccan Sovereign expressed "his determination to continue to work in concert with the Turkish President to strengthen the cooperative relations that exist between the two countries and diversify their fields, in realization of the strong bonds of friendship and mutual esteem uniting the two peoples."
In this regard, Turkish Vice President Fuat Oktay recently announced that "discussions on bilateral cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, education and defense" are underway, revealing that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan had invited King Mohammed VI to make an official visit to Turkey.
Thus, the defense sector could be the new project of cooperation between the two countries. Morocco is ready to set up industrial units for the manufacture of weapons on its territory. For this major challenge, the kingdom could count on the military expertise of the Turks, from whom it has procured the Bayraktar drones.
