The prospects for bilateral cooperation in the military defense sector between Morocco and Israel were the subject of a meeting held on January 16 and 17 at the Rabat officers’ mess circle.
This is the first meeting of the Morocco-Israel Defense Cooperation Monitoring Committee, a statement from the FAR (Royal Armed Forces) indicates, specifying that the discussions were co-chaired by the Army Corps General, Inspector General of the FAR, and Dror Shalom, Director of the Political-Military Affairs Bureau of the Israeli Ministry of Defense.
These discussions made it possible to examine the various areas of bilateral military cooperation, in particular logistics, training and exercises as well as the acquisition and modernization of equipment, notes the press release.
Speaking on the occasion, the Inspector General of the FAR and Commander of the Southern Zone described the Morocco-Israel military cooperation as "bearing mutual interests and based on trust and mutual support."
At the end of the exchanges, the two officials decided to further strengthen this cooperation and expand it to other areas, including Intelligence, Air Defense and Electronic Warfare. The conclusions of the meeting were presented and adopted on January 17, 2023 by the two parties, adds the same source.
