Morocco Launches Domestic Military Drone Production, Expanding Defense Industry

Morocco has started industrial defense activities, including the manufacture of drones equipped with observation, surveillance and armament equipment.
It emerges from the presentation of the report on the sectoral project of the ministry delegated to the head of government in charge of the Defense Administration, for the year 2023, that industrial defense activities such as the manufacture of drones equipped with observation, surveillance and armament equipment; the maintenance of military aircraft and the development of the manufacture of weapons and ammunition, have started.
"In order to support investment in the military industry, the law (Law No. 10-20 relating to defense and security materials and equipment, weapons and ammunition, editor’s note) allows investors in this field to benefit, like other industrialists, from some incentives," the report states, stressing that Morocco’s commitment to developing its military industry "attracts the attention of Moroccan but also foreign investors."
The report also states that clarification meetings have been held with these investors, meetings during which the objectives pursued have been simplified and the importance of investment opportunities in the military industry has been highlighted.
