Morocco and US Seize 35 kg of Cocaine in Joint Anti-Drug Operation in Tangier

The General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) in coordination with the American Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), carried out, on Tuesday, an operation that resulted in the seizure of 35 kg of pure cocaine from a Latin American country and destined for certain Asian countries.
On the ground, the operation was carried out by the services of the National Security and the customs elements of Tangier. In a statement, the DGSN indicated that this operation is part of the cooperation relations between the Moroccan security services and their American counterparts, in the fight against cross-border crime and the illegal trafficking of drugs and psychotropic substances.
The samples of the seized drugs were sent to the forensic police laboratory of the Institute of Forensic Sciences of the National Security to analyze the purity degree of the cocaine, adds the DGSN.
An investigation has been opened by the judicial police to identify all the accomplices involved in this case and determine its regional and international ramifications as well as its links with the international cocaine trafficking networks.
