Morocco and Israel Set to Boost Trade with New Economic Partnership

Morocco and Israel plan to sign a new agreement aimed at strengthening commercial and industrial development between the two countries.

This new economic partnership aims to "strengthen and expand cooperation between the two countries, promote innovation and diversify and multiply trade relations between the two countries," said Noa Artchuk, representative of the Israeli Ministry of Economy and Industry.

During a virtual conference held on Tuesday between Moroccan and Israeli economic players, the official said that "several Israeli companies are interested in the prospect of operating in Morocco and finding Moroccan partners with whom they can work in various sectors."

The Israeli government aspires through this agreement to "promote the future development of bilateral relations and cooperation between the two countries" and to "ensure lasting peace, security and stability and prosperity for the two nations," she specified.

The cooperation will take place in various economic and industrial sectors, including the chemical, pharmaceutical, electrical and mechanical industries, renewable energies, irrigation technologies and agriculture.

For his part, the President of the Morocco-Israel Business Council, Steve O’HANA, said that "beyond the bilateral, the Moroccan-Israeli economic cooperation can therefore be part of a multilateral approach, in order to jointly penetrate new markets where each of our countries is present and competitive."

He added that "all the conditions are in place to raise the economic and commercial relations between Morocco and Israel to the rank of a solid, lasting and growth-sharing partnership. It is up to us to work together in this direction."
