Israeli Economy Minister to Visit Morocco, Sign Key Trade Agreements

Orna Barbivai, the Israeli Minister of Economy, will travel to Morocco at the end of this month or the beginning of next month, where she will sign several important agreements aimed at strengthening cooperation between the two countries, particularly in the areas of economy and trade.
"We are currently awaiting the visit of the Israeli Minister of Economy, which was postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic. We hope that the visit will take place at the end of this month or the beginning of next month, after the formation of the next Moroccan government," announced David Govrin, Chargé d’Affaires of Israel in Morocco, in an interview with SNRTnews. He also stated that many economic agreements will be signed during this visit.
"These very important agreements aim to strengthen cooperation between the two countries, particularly in the areas of economy and trade. We consider these agreements to be a very important step for the relations between Morocco and Israel. We have been working on this for some time," he said, convinced that each of the two countries can learn a great deal from the experiences acquired by the other in the field of ecology and renewable energies.
"Morocco has made enormous progress in the production of renewable energies. In Israel, several high-tech companies are working to develop new energy solutions. Therefore, it is an area of cooperation that we can explore and which offers many areas in which we can exchange," added the Israeli diplomat. Other key sectors of this cooperation: agriculture and irrigation. Emphasizing that Israel has great experience in desert agriculture and drip irrigation techniques, David Govrin believes that the best way to proceed would be to bring together Moroccan and Israeli experts and professionals and create an exchange and opportunities for collaboration between them.
