Israel Aims to Boost Trade with Morocco to $500 Million Annually, Minister Says

On a three-day working visit to Morocco, Orna Barbivay, the Israeli Minister of Economy and Industry, announced that her country intends to quickly increase the level of its trade with the kingdom to $500 million annually. She made this announcement in a speech, at the end of her talks on Monday, February 21, 2022 in Rabat, with the Minister of Trade and Industry, Ryad Mezzour.
"From the current $130 million, Israel aspires to increase this level as quickly as possible to $500 million, or even more. The two countries have many opportunities to share in order to reach this level quickly," she affirmed. In this sense, Morocco and Israel have signed a bilateral cooperation agreement aimed at promoting a large number of industrial, commercial and technological sectors between the two countries.
Still on Monday, Orna Barbivay was at the office of the Minister of Economy and Finance, Nadia Fatah Alaoui. On the agenda of the exchanges, the promotion of economic and financial cooperation between Morocco and Israel. On this occasion, the Israeli minister welcomed the constant evolution of bilateral relations between the two countries. She also reaffirmed the willingness of the Israeli government to build a foundation of strategic partnership with Morocco capable of driving a constructive and lasting dynamic to the economic relations between the two countries.
Orna Barbivay will travel to Casablanca tomorrow Tuesday, then to Marrakech on Wednesday as part of a private visit.
