Israeli Ambassador Highlights Growing Morocco-Israel Ties in Key Sectors
The Israeli ambassador to Morocco, David Govrin, believes that the agreements between Rabat and Tel Aviv are beneficial for the two peoples.
"The resumption of diplomatic relations has allowed us to develop direct flights, trade exchanges, we have signed very important economic agreements. We have created working groups in various fields such as agriculture and industry. These working groups constitute a mechanism that allows us to strengthen bilateral relations," explained David Govrin during his appearance on the i24NEWS Prime show.
He recalled that the two countries have maintained social and cultural relations for decades, and have managed to create links with the two civil societies. The Israeli ambassador to Morocco also said that officials or the civilian population sometimes display their "favorable support" for the agreements between the two countries. He assures that they understand that they are "beneficial for the two peoples".
During the show, David Govrin also addressed the current tensions between Morocco and Algeria. "In Israel, we do not want to interfere in this type of dispute and I think it is very clear that it is an attempt by the Algerian regime to try to divert attention from internal problems," he said.
