Morocco and Israel Begin Diplomatic Ties, Plan Direct Flights and Liaison Offices

The first official contacts have already begun between Morocco and Israel. The two countries are working to set up liaison offices and establish a direct air link.
The Moroccan Foreign Minister confirmed during the Cabinet meeting held on Thursday that the restoration of diplomatic relations between the two countries through liaison offices and the establishment of direct flights will boost tourism, especially for the Moroccan Jewish community wishing to travel to Israel and for Israeli tourists eager to set foot on Moroccan soil.
Also on the agenda of this cooperation between the two countries, according to the Royal Cabinet communiqué, is the promotion of innovative relations in the economic and technological fields.
It should be recalled that Morocco has always worked for the rapprochement of the peoples of the region and the promotion of peace and stability in the Middle East, in addition to the special ties that unite the Moroccan Jewish community, including in Israel, to the person of the King.
"All these elements have prompted the Kingdom of Morocco to reactivate the mechanisms it has put in place to support the Palestinian cause, which have already proven their worth and will allow the Kingdom to play its full role in establishing a just and lasting peace in the Middle East region," Nasser Bourita recalled.
