Morocco Aims to Lead Global Automotive Industry with High-Tech Manufacturing Push

Ryad Mezzour, Minister of Industry and Trade, stated that the Moroccan automotive sector has entered a new era in its history.
"With the industrialization of new vehicle models in Morocco, including electrified vehicles, the Moroccan automotive sector is entering a new era of its history marked by the rise of skills, technology and decarbonization," said Ryad Mezzour during the launch ceremony of the "Presse XL High Speed", the new high-precision technological stamping line of the Renault plant in Tangier. A first in Africa.
Regarding the integration rate of the automotive industry in Morocco, the minister said that this rate reached 63% in 2021, but the sector dreams big. According to him, the targeted objective is to reach 80% in the long term. Achieving this objective "will transform the kingdom into the most competitive platform in the world," he added.
