Morocco Aims to Double Car Production to 1 Million Annually by 2030

One million cars produced per year in Morocco. This is the objective of the Minister of Industry and Trade, Ryad Mezzour, by 2030.
Last year, Morocco produced some 480,000 cars, mainly at the Renault plant in Tangier and the Peugeot PSA plant in Kenitra, the minister said, noting that the country’s current capacity is 700,000 cars per year.
For the minister, the automotive manufacturing system in Morocco is currently available thanks to the work done over a twenty-year period, including 160 factories employing 220,000 Moroccan skills, including 15,000 engineers working on the design of new high-end cars. "Morocco is now the third most competitive country in the world in this sector," he said proudly.
Similarly, the industrial system set up on the initiative of King Mohammed VI now allows for a 65% integration rate and allows Moroccans to aspire to manufacture a 100% Moroccan car.
