Moroccan World Cup Star Selim Amallah Signs 4-Year Deal with La Liga’s Real Valladolid

Selim Amallah has been picked up by a Liga club just hours before the end of the winter transfer window. He is leaving Standard Liège five months before the end of his contract for Real Valladolid.
Sidelined by the Belgian club after refusing to extend his contract, Moroccan international Selim Amrabat has finally found a way out. He has signed a 4-year contract with Real Valladolid, currently 17th in La Liga.
A few days ago, the media had announced him close to a transfer to Hertha Berlin in Germany. But it is with Real Valladolid that the Liège club was able to find an agreement. After the World Cup, the Moroccan midfielder was on the radar of many European clubs, who preferred to wait until the end of his contract for negotiations without pressure and above all less costly.
But the Liège club, already disappointed by the player’s refusal to extend, was determined to recover part of the amount (1.50 million) spent to recruit him in 2019. He will finally be transferred for 1 million euros while his market value is currently estimated at 6.50 million euros.
Selim Amallah arrived at Standard in July 2019 from Mouscron on a contract that was to expire next June. He scored 15 goals and provided 4 assists in 27 league matches, 3 in the Belgian Cup and 6 in the Europa League. At Real Valladolid, he will be welcomed by his teammate in the national team Jawad El Yamiq.
