Moroccan World Cup Star Ounahi Eyes Move to Marseille from Struggling Angers

Coveted by many European clubs, the young Moroccan international, Azzedine Ounahi, could leave his current club, SCO Angers, to join Olympique de Marseille, as early as the next transfer window.
The Angevin was the revelation of the 2022 World Cup, a competition during which he displayed all his talent and caught the eye of recruiters from the big European clubs. Since then, it’s been a flurry of activity around his transfer. According to L’Équipe, the young player would have already expressed his wish to leave the club in western France, currently the bottom of the league, as early as this winter.
A position already considered by the leaders of Angers SCO, who had indicated that they were preparing for "all possible scenarios" if they had to part with their midfielder. The club president says he is receiving calls about the Moroccan dribbler.
According to the sports newspaper, the Lion of the Atlas would have already made his choice for his future, opting for Olympique de Marseille. Still under contract with SCO until 2026, Ounahi could join the Phocéen club in January. The Olympians are currently 4th in the league but eliminated from all European competitions. With a view to regaining the queen of European competitions, the Marseille coach wants to strengthen his team.
