Leicester City Makes Bold Bid for World Cup Standout Azzedine Ounahi
The battle around the transfer of Moroccan international Azzedine Ounahi promises to be tough. Olympique de Marseille, interested, will have to fend off several European clubs including Leicester. But the English club would have already taken the lead by making an offer very difficult to refuse.
OM president Pablo Longoria has cause for concern, as the Moroccan gem from Angers SCO could slip through his fingers. Since his impressive performance at the 2022 World Cup, the Moroccan midfielder has been closely watched by many professionals and observers.
Several other clubs, including OM, want to recruit him this winter to strengthen their teams. The Olympians would like to take advantage of this transfer to replace the Brazilian Gerson, who has been pushed towards the exit for several weeks.
In this file, a club seems to have taken the lead over the others. It is Leicester who would have already proposed, according to L’Équipe, 20 million euros to recruit the Angevin midfielder, to which are added 10 million euros in potential bonuses in the event that the Foxes qualify for the next Champions League at the end of the season.
