Napoli Leads Race to Sign World Cup Standout Azzedine Ounahi from Angers

Despite the interest of many clubs, including OM, Moroccan international Azzedine Ounahi could sign for Napoli this winter. After the opening of the transfer window, the offer from the Serie A leader is the only one to meet the conditions of his current club, SCO Angers.
Revelation of the 2022 World Cup, Ounahi is at the center of a transfer battle since the end of the competition. Considering a beautiful adventure with the Atlas Lions, the Moroccan is considering taking another step. A position that does not displease his club, which hopes to sell him as early as this winter, while continuing to benefit from him until the end of the season, in the form of a loan.
In this case, clubs such as FC Barcelona or OM of Pablo Longoria have expressed their interest in recruiting the Moroccan nugget. The Phocaean club would like to make up for the departure of Gerson, while the Catalan club would like to strengthen its midfield for the second part of the season. However, it is in Italy that the future of the 22-year-old player seems to be taking shape.
According to the newspaper Il Corriere dello Sport, it is Napoli who would have taken the lead to secure the services of the Angevin. The Italian club would have already made a serious offer of 20 million euros and accepted the conditions of the French club, fighting for maintenance in Ligue 1.
In other words, a transfer in January coupled with a six-month loan, with Ounahi remaining in Ligue 1 at least until the end of the season. A destination that does not displease the midfielder of the Atlas Lions, the same source points out.
