Moroccan Worker Brutally Attacked with Ax at Spanish Gas Station

The town of Massalavés, in the province of Valencia in Spain, was the scene of a violent attack against a Moroccan national. This 32-year-old man ended up unconscious in the hospital, after receiving several ax blows from a group of individuals.
According to the testimony of the victim collected by Levante-EMV, the latter was the victim of a violent attack in Massalavés, near Valencia. After finishing his workday, the young Moroccan headed to a gas station to refuel, when he was approached by an individual who demanded money from him, reports El Periódico Mediterráneo.
As he was answering him, another man got out of a vehicle and began to hit him with an ax on the head and chest, before leaving him unconscious on the spot. According to the medical report from the hospital, the young man suffered several contusions to the skull and face, as well as pain in the neck and chest. "I’m in a lot of pain, I can’t breathe and I’m scared," he says, before adding: "I’m lucky to be alive. Each ax blow he dealt me to the head could have killed me."
Last Monday, the victim was able to join his family after several days spent in the hospital. For the moment, he has not yet fully recovered from his injuries and must undergo further medical examinations, the doctors indicate. Also, he hardly sleeps at night and has nightmares. "He is nervous and doesn’t want to eat at all," says one of his relatives.
The young Moroccan has been living in Massalavés for two years and has never had a history with the law. According to the mayor of the city, Puri Noguera, he is "a very hardworking and unassuming young man".
