The main aggressor, Christian N., a 21-year-old Spaniard, suspecting the Moroccan of having a romantic relationship with his girlfriend, threatened him before hitting him in the eye with a chain. As the victim collapsed, the aggressor continued to kick him in the head, causing him serious brain injuries. Christian and his accomplices, a Spanish couple, then fled, leaving the unconscious victim on the ground.

Actively sought by the Manacor police, Christian took refuge with friends for a week, before surrendering to the national police, accompanied by his lawyer, Miquel Àngel Ordinas. He will then be placed in pre-trial detention by the investigating judge for a crime of serious assault and battery.
"I just want justice to be done, the beating was savage. The doctor told me that my brother had brain damage and that his condition was extremely serious," the victim’s brother had said.
