Dutch-Moroccan Teen Arrested for Violent Assault Over Mask Dispute in Spain

A Dutch national of Moroccan origin was arrested in the Malaga region for a violent assault. The victim, a 50-year-old Spaniard, explained to the media that he was assaulted in front of a restaurant in Mijas.
Angel was waiting with several other customers to buy a roasted chicken to take away. The customers were discussing the discomfort of wearing masks when the young 18-year-old aggressor passed by without a mask.
The victim explains that he asked him to wear his mask like everyone else. The young man responded by asking if he was a police officer. When Angel pointed out that "any citizen could report an assault," the young man started yelling in his face before physically assaulting him.
According to the local media SUR, Angel was hit several times in the face before falling to the ground. He also has several injuries to his face, caused by his broken sunglasses. The young man fled after other customers intervened.
The Guardia Civil, alerted to the incident, was able to locate the young Dutch-Moroccan the same day near a gym. He was arrested and is being prosecuted for assault and battery.
