Moroccan Man Arrested in Spain for Alleged Domestic Abuse and Sexual Assault

The Civil Guard has arrested a 34-year-old Moroccan national in Vélez-Málaga, in southern Spain. The suspect is allegedly involved in a case of assault, knife wounds, and sexual assaults on his wife.
It all started with a complaint filed by a woman with the Family and Women’s Assistance Unit (UFAM). In her statement, the victim explained that she had to flee the family home, abandoning her infant, in order to escape her husband’s attacks. According to Malaga Hoy, the latter is said to have caused her burns using a cigarette and a heated fork before subjecting her to "degrading sexual practices".
The searches carried out in the building by the UFAM agents and the Vélez-Málaga police, in the presence of the complainant, made it possible to find the baby and arrest the aggressor. He was placed in pre-trial detention on the orders of the 4th Investigating Judge of the Vélez-Málaga court.
The Moroccan is not unknown to the police. He had already been incarcerated last May for similar acts. But his wife had allowed him to regain his freedom by withdrawing her complaint.
