Moroccan Woman Found Dead; Husband Arrested in Suspected Homicide

It all started with the discovery by family members of the body of a young woman, around 33 years old and married without children, at their home in the Oulad Al Amri douar. They had first thought she had fallen into a coma for an unknown reason. Informed, the ambulance, the representative of the local authority of the Oulad Ziane district (prefecture of Berrechid), as well as elements of the Royal Gendarmerie arrived on the scene. They discovered that the young woman was already deceased. They were able to notice obvious signs of violence on different parts of her body.

Informed, the competent public prosecutor’s office had ordered, on Sunday, the autopsy of the body of a woman in her thirties in order to determine the exact cause of death. He suspects the victim’s husband, also in his thirties, of being behind this crime. The victim bore injuries caused by the use of a bladed weapon (a stick) by her husband. The latter had fled to an unknown destination. The public prosecutor’s office then issued a national search warrant against him. The man will be arrested. During his interrogation, he admitted to having had suspicions of betrayal and a misunderstanding with his wife. Angry, he used violence against her because of her reluctance to reveal the contents of her mobile phone. The suspect was then brought before the competent judicial authority so that the necessary measures could be taken against him.

On Tuesday, the suspect was presented before the representative of the public prosecutor’s office near the Court of Appeal of Settat. The investigations continue.
