Adultery Arrest in Morocco Sparks Debate on Marital Laws and Expat Rights

Elements of the Royal Gendarmerie of Kariat Arekmane arrested a 26-year-old married woman, residing in Selouane, Nador province, accused of adultery by her husband.

The arrest of the young woman follows the complaint for adultery, filed by her husband, a thirty-year-old residing in Europe.

The accused and the man in her company at the time of her arrest were taken to the police station. The latter, aged 30 and from the city of Nador, is suspected of being her lover.

A preliminary investigation has been opened to elucidate this case. The two accused will be presented before the competent judge in the coming days.
