Fez Doctor's Body Found Buried in Husband's Garden, Manhunt Underway

The body of a 35-year-old doctor, working at the Al Ghassani hospital in Fez, was found on Thursday. The remains were buried in the garden of a property belonging to her husband, in the province of Taza.

The discovery took place three days after the disappearance of the young woman was reported to the authorities by her husband and father, who had mentioned unexplained circumstances.

This outcome follows the investigations carried out by the prefectural service of the judicial police of Fez. Seized of the case, the investigators immediately suspected a criminal origin to this disappearance, the victim leaving no trace behind her. The decisive element of the investigation was the technical analysis of her mobile phone, which made it possible to establish that her last known location was her husband’s home, in the rural area of Had Oulad Zbair.

Once the area was identified, a search operation was carried out on the property by the judicial police of Fez, with the support of the Royal Gendarmerie, the technical and scientific police and canine units. The first observations on site made it possible to note the presence of blood stains on the husband’s vehicle. Subsequently, the combing of the land led to the discovery of a freshly dug pit in the garden, inside which the body of the victim was found. According to the initial examinations, it bore traces of aggression.

As a result of these elements, the remains were transferred to the forensic medicine department of the Al-Ghassani hospital for an autopsy. The victim’s husband, with whom she had three children, is considered the main suspect in this case. Currently untraceable, he is the subject of a wanted notice issued by the judicial authorities for his alleged involvement in this homicide.
