Brutal Jealousy-Fueled Murder Shocks Moroccan Town
The investigating judge at the Court of Appeal of Settat ordered the provisional detention of a man accused of murdering his wife in Ben Ahmed.
On the orders of the Attorney General of the King, the accused was placed in detention on Sunday, October 19, for premeditated murder. His accomplice, who is accused of not having reported the crime, was also imprisoned, reports Assabah. The facts date back to May 2025, when the wife of the main accused was reported missing. Having no news of her, her family reported her disappearance to the police.
"The investigators of the judicial police then opened a thorough investigation, questioning several members of the victim’s entourage, including her husband," details the publication. The accused claimed that his wife had joined France via Mohammed V airport. But the investigators of the criminal brigade of the wilaya did not find the name of the missing person in the records of the airlines serving this airport.
By viewing the surveillance camera recordings near the suspect’s home, they were able to find the elements to confront him. The man was arrested on Friday, October 18. A knife and a saw, as well as a vehicle that may have been used to transport the victim’s body parts, were found at his home during a search.
According to a source close to the case, the murderer would have stabbed his wife several times in the back with a knife before abandoning her in the bathroom where she succumbed to her injuries. This barbaric act would be motivated by morbid jealousy.
