Moroccan Woman Killed in Dispute Over Husband’s Polygamy Request

A femicide has shaken the peaceful commune of Zaouiat Saiss, in the province of El Jadida. A man brutally ended the life of his wife during a marital dispute.
It was the local authorities who raised the alarm, warning the royal gendarmerie center in Sidi Ismail of a possible homicide.
Arriving quickly on the scene, the gendarmes discovered the lifeless body of the woman at the marital home. The initial findings revealed traces of violence on her neck, indicating that she had been strangled.
According to information gathered by the investigators, the motive for this crime would be linked to a disagreement on the issue of polygamy. The husband would have expressed his intention to marry a second wife, a prospect that his wife categorically refused. The discussion would then have degenerated, leading to the murder.
The suspect was immediately apprehended and taken into custody. The investigation, supervised by the competent prosecutor’s office, is continuing in order to establish the exact circumstances of the tragedy. The victim’s body was transferred to the regional hospital center in El Jadida for an autopsy.
