Moroccan Universities Make Strides in Global Times Higher Education Ranking

For the year 2023, seven Moroccan universities are featured in the Times Higher Education (THE) ranking, which includes the 1,500 best universities in the world from 104 countries.
This ranking includes the universities Ibn Tofail, Cadi Ayyad, Sidi Mohamed Ben Abdallah (ranked 1001-1200) and the universities Abdelmalek Essaadi, Hassan II, Mohammed V and Chouaib Doukkali (1201-1500), indicates a press release from the Ministry of Higher Education, which specifies that this achievement places Morocco in 4th place in terms of the number of universities ranked at the African and Arab levels.
From 2021 to 2023, Morocco has managed to progress in this global ranking of the best universities, going from five universities in 2021 to seven universities in the latest edition for the year 2023, rejoices the ministry.
Hailing this performance, the department has pledged to redouble its efforts, with all universities, to improve this ranking in perfect harmony with the New Development Model aimed at perpetuating Morocco’s position as a continental hub in the fields of higher education and scientific research and innovation.
To compile its THE ranking, it takes into account precise scientific criteria such as teaching, research, knowledge transfer, research influence, international openness and innovation.
