Moroccan Triathlete Jawad Abdelmoula Clinches African Cup Victory in Dakhla

Organized by the Royal Moroccan Triathlon Federation, the 5th edition of the Dakhla African Triathlon Cup was won in the "Elites" category by the Moroccan triathlete Jawad Abdelmoula, among the men, and by the Japanese Minori Ikeno, among the women. It was on Saturday in Dakhla.
Before winning the African triathlon champion title, Jawad Abdelmoula covered the distance of 750 m of swimming, 20 km of cycling and 5 km of running, in 52min 27sec, ahead of the Japanese Reno Sato, who finished 2nd with a time of 52min 32sec. The Russian triathlete, Denis Kolobrodov, came third with 52 min 38sec.
Among the women, Minori Ikeno completed the course in 01h00min 57sec, followed by Chisato Nakajima (01h 01min 12sec), while the Kazakhstani, Ekaterina Shabalina, took 3rd place in 01h 01min 34sec.
In a statement to MAP, the president of the Royal Moroccan Triathlon Federation, Majid Amahrok, said that this competition recorded the participation of professional triathletes from all over the world, eager to obtain their tickets for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
The 5th edition recorded the participation of around forty triathletes from 18 countries, including France, Spain, Belgium, the United States, Colombia, Mexico, and of course Morocco, Mauritius and Togo.
