Morocco Clinches Third Place at African Swimming Championships with 10-Medal Haul

By winning 10 medals including one gold, 2 silver and 7 bronze, Morocco ranked third in the African Swimming Championships. This African competition ended on Saturday with the second silver medal won for Morocco by Meryem Bahajoub, in the 200m butterfly event.
For this 14th edition of the African swimming championship held in Accra, Ghana, the Moroccan swimmers were able to hold their own with determination and a thirst for victory. Among the ladies, the swimmers Rimi Jennate, Alaoui Inass, Meryem Bahajoub and Sofia Garnoussi also won a bronze medal in the 4 × 100 m medley relay.
Hamza Benhalima won several medals. These are the bronze medal for the 200m freestyle, the gold medal for the 50m backstroke won on the first day of the African Swimming Championships, the silver medal for the 400m individual medley, the medal for the 200m individual medley (IM) and the bronze medal for the 4 × 100 m NL Mixed.
As for Sofia Garnoussi, she won the bronze medal in the 4 × 200 m NL Girls, the bronze medal 4 × 100 m NL Mixed, the bronze medal Relay 4 × 100 m IM Girls, and the bronze medal 4 × 100 m NL Girls.
The bronze medal in the 4 × 200 m NL Girls was also won by Meryem Bahajoub, Sawsane El Gamah, Inass Alaoui, the bronze medal 4 × 100 m NL Mixed was won by Ilyas Fallaki, Inass Alaoui.
Rimi Jennate, Sawsane El Gamah, Inass Alaoui also won the bronze medal in the 4 × 100 m NL Girls. Sawsane El Gamah won the bronze medal in the 100m Fly, the silver medal in the 200m Fly went to Meryem Bahajoub, and the bronze medal Relay 4 × 100 m IM Girls went to Rimi Jennate, Inass Alaoui, Meryem Bahajoub, Sofia Garnoussi.
To boost the morale of the athletes, the Moroccan ambassador to Ghana, Imane Ouadil, was by their side. A visit during which the president of the Royal Moroccan Swimming Federation (FRMN), Driss Hassa, presented him with a souvenir trophy.
