Moroccan Traveler Caught Smuggling €85,000 at Tangier Port
A currency trafficking of more than 85,000 euros was thwarted, on Thursday, by the customs services at the Tanger Med port.
The sum was discovered during the control carried out by the elements on duty on the port platform, with a Moroccan residing in Italy, who was trying to introduce it into the national territory without having an authorization from the Customs and Indirect Taxes Administration (ADII), said the Moroccan customs.
The currencies were hidden in a backpack with medicines, hidden in his car registered in Italy, the same source said, specifying that the MRE had told customs that he only had 25,000 euros.
The individual was handed over to the judicial police of the Tanger Med passenger port for further investigation.
