Moroccan Customs Seize Over €106,000 from Italian-Registered Vehicle at Tanger Med Port

A Moroccan residing abroad (MRE) was arrested on Saturday by customs elements operating at the Tanger Med port. He had in his possession more than 106,000 euros that were not declared to the competent services.
A customs source told the MAP that the MRE was trying to introduce 106,950 euros into the national territory, without having an authorization from the Customs and Indirect Taxes Administration (ADII). This sum of money discovered during a routine check was hidden in a handbag among the vehicle’s luggage, registered in Italy.
The same source added that the person concerned was handed over to the judicial police, on the instructions of the public prosecutor’s office, pending the conclusion of the investigation.
