Moroccan Traffic Officer Under Investigation for Embezzlement of Fine Money

A senior peace officer from the traffic brigade at the Fqih Ben Salah security district is the subject of a judicial investigation conducted under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office in charge of financial crimes. He is accused of his alleged involvement in a case of misappropriation of public funds.
The case came to light following the malfunctions observed during the deposit operations of the sums of money from the transactional and flat-rate fines collected following offenses to the Highway Code at the Fqih Ben Salah security district, according to a statement from the General Directorate of National Security.
The same source specifies that the person concerned was in charge of supervising these operations. An investigation was opened following the transfer of his file to the judicial police services to determine the criminal acts with which he is charged.
Arrested, the person concerned was placed in custody for the needs of the investigation.
