Moroccan team: Brahim Diaz will have his lucky number

Brahim Diaz will play a key role in the Moroccan team. The Real Madrid striker will wear the number 10, his favorite number.
Summoned by Walid Regragui for the matches against Angola and Mauritania, Brahim Diaz arrived in Morocco on Monday. The native of Malaga was welcomed at the Salé airport by a crowd of supporters who came to thank him for choosing Morocco over Spain. "Thank you for the support, for the affection. I am one of you. I am very grateful to the Moroccan people and I will do my best to deserve this great jersey," Diaz told the press.
It was announced that the Madrid striker will be a key piece of the Moroccan team. And this seems to be confirmed. According to AS, Diaz will wear the number 10, his favorite number. The 24-year-old player had worn this number at AC Milan where he achieved remarkable performances, winning the Italian championship and reaching the semi-finals of the Champions League that season. It was also his number when he played in the youth teams of Manchester City and La Roja (U-19).
The Real Madrid star will make his debut with the Atlas Lions this Friday against Angola at the Grand Stadium of Agadir. He will also likely be a starter for the match against Mauritania, scheduled for Tuesday, March 26, at the same stadium. After these two matches, Regragui’s protégés will cross crampons with Zambia on June 3 and Congo on June 6 as part of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
Semi-finalist of the 2022 World Cup, Morocco is determined to achieve a flawless run and qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations which will take place on its territory, and the 2030 World Cup that it co-organizes with Spain and Portugal.
