Brahim Díaz: "For me, he is the best player in the world"

Brahim Diaz’s paternal grandmother, of Moroccan origin, is the biggest fan of the Madrid player who made his debut with the Atlas Lions on Friday against Angola at the Agadir stadium.
It is from Purificación Abdelkader, Brahim Diaz’s paternal grandmother, that the 24-year-old player derives his Moroccan origins which allowed him to join the Atlas Lions. Grandma made the trip from Agadir to support her grandson who played his first match with the Moroccan team on Friday against Angola. "It was a spectacular debut, as always. For me, Brahim is the best player in the world," she told the Spanish media Marca after the match won by Morocco by the smallest of margins.
She added: "I am very proud that he plays for Morocco, but I would have been just as proud if it had been with the Spanish jersey, because my grandson is one hundred percent Spanish and one hundred percent Moroccan." Diaz’s grandmother has no intention of missing any of his matches, as long as her health allows it. "I will follow my grandson everywhere, as long as my body can handle it. I am, we are (the whole family) his number one fans and we will always be there to support him," said Puri Abdelkader.
In addition to Brahim Diaz’s paternal grandmother, his maternal grandmother, Dolores, as well as about twenty members of his maternal and paternal family, were in Agadir to support the Real Madrid striker. "I will follow Brahim wherever he plays," Dolores added. The two grandmothers, who live in Malaga, will remain in Agadir until next Tuesday to attend Morocco’s second match against Mauritania.
