Brahim Díaz promises "great things" for the Moroccan team

The Spanish-Moroccan striker of Real Madrid Brahim Diaz made his long-awaited debut with the Moroccan national team against Angola (1-0) on March 22 and Mauritania, on March 26 (0-0) at the Grand Stadium in Agadir. Back in Spain, the new face of the Atlas Lions shared his feelings.
While Walid Regragui is very disappointed with the performances of his players during the two friendly matches of the international break against Angola and Mauritania, Brahim Diaz is optimistic about the future. "This is just the beginning. There are a lot of great things to come," the new Atlas Lion wrote on X (formerly Twitter) and on his Instagram story in English and Arabic. His post has received kind comments, proving that Moroccan fans have already adopted the Real Madrid star.
Brahim was born on August 3, 1999 in Malaga to a mother from that city, Patricia Díaz, and a father of Moroccan origin from Melilla, Sufiel Abdelkader Mohand. He started his international career in the Spanish youth categories, but did not have the opportunity to play in the senior team. Between a possible call-up from Luis de la Fuente, the coach of La Roja, which is slow in coming, and Morocco’s constant interest in him, the 24-year-old player has finally chosen Morocco as his sporting nationality. A choice he fully assumes.
The 24-year-old player and his new teammates will face Zambia and Congo in June as part of the qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup. He could also participate in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, the next Africa Cup of Nations (CAN) to be held in Morocco in 2025, as well as the 2030 World Cup that Morocco will co-host with Spain and Portugal.
