Brahim Diaz’s Grandmother Beams with Pride as Grandson Debuts for Morocco National Team

The paternal grandmother of Moroccan international player Brahim Diaz says she is proud to see her grandson wear the Moroccan national team jersey, at the Grand Stadium of Agadir. This pride is even stronger when she hears the Moroccan national anthem resounding in the stadium.
In a statement to Chiringuito, she confides that the interpretation of the Moroccan national anthem reminded her of her mother. "I still carry her in my heart. I remembered her. I know she would have been very proud to see Brahim wear this jersey," she said.
Talking about her grandson’s childhood, the mother of Sufiel Abdelkader Mohand says she is happy to see Brahim realizing his dreams in football. She confides that she was one of the people who supported him during his childhood when he played football in the street and that she saw him as a great player in the future. She also assures the full support of her family to the Spanish-Moroccan striker of Real Madrid and the Moroccan team.
Brahim was born on August 3, 1999 in Malaga to a mother from that city, Patricia Díaz, and a father of Moroccan origin from Melilla, Sufiel Abdelkader Mohand. He started his international career in the Spanish youth categories, but did not have the opportunity to play in the senior team. Between a possible call-up from Luis de la Fuente, the coach of La Roja, which is slow in coming, and Morocco’s constant interest in him, the 24-year-old player has finally chosen Morocco as his sporting nationality.
