Moroccan Teacher Gets 20 Years for Killing Daughter’s Boyfriend in Al Hoceima

A few months have passed before the president of the criminal chamber at the Court of Appeal of Al Hoceima finally handed down his heavy verdict, to the detriment of the teacher involved in the murder of his daughter’s boyfriend.
Last July, a young man, a former detainee of the Hirak of the Rif, had succumbed to stab wounds inflicted by the father of his girlfriend. A heated argument had broken out between the father and the young man. The latter categorically refused to end his relationship with the young woman.
A teacher by profession at a school in Al Hoceima, the father, in his fifties, had inflicted several knife wounds to the heart and chest, muttering "Be witnesses of his insolence!". The victim had died in the resuscitation department of the hospital.
Prosecuted for voluntary homicide, the teacher was sentenced, on Tuesday, January 28, to 20 years in prison.
