Moroccan Stars Shine: Five Atlas Lions Among World’s Top 100 Footballers

Five Moroccan players are on the list of the one hundred best football players in the world in 2022.
The daily The Guardian has just published its ranking of the 100 best football players in the world. The Lions of the Atlas, authors of an exceptional run during the World Cup in Qatar, are very well represented.
Ranked 16th, Achraf Hakimi is considered one of the best defenders in the world. The Moroccan right-back owes this position to his performances with the national team and Paris Saint-Germain.
Yassine Bounou is the second Moroccan player in the top 100. The Moroccan goalkeeper occupies the 43rd place in the ranking. The Sevilla player was one of the great architects of the Moroccan team’s feat in Qatar. Next comes the defensive midfielder, Sofyan Amrabat, who inherits the 49th place on the list.
The two other Moroccans in the top 100 best players in the world are Hakim Ziyech and Azzedine Ounahi. While the Chelsea player is ranked 63rd on the list, the now Marseille player is positioned 79th. Ounahi was named revelation of the 2022 World Cup by several observers.
