Morocco Dominates African Football Team of the Year with Five Players

Five Moroccan internationals are among the eleven best African football players of the year 2022.
According to the International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS), which unveiled the best African eleven of the year, Morocco has placed the largest number of players in this team, due to its historic run at the 2022 World Cup. Several Moroccan players have indeed stood out during this competition through their performance.
Thus, in the African team of the year 2022, the organization has integrated five Atlas Lions. These are Achraf Hakimi, already named best right-back in the World by the same structure, Sofyan Amrabat, Azzedine Ounahi, considered the revelation of the World Cup, Romain Saiss, and the last rampart of the Atlas Lions, Yassine Bounou.
In addition to these Moroccan players, we find in this team, the captain of the Lions of Teranga, Kalidou Koulibaly, the Tunisian full-back of Al Ahly of Cairo, the Ghanaian of Ajax Amsterdam, Mohammed Kudus. The attack is formed by the Senegalese Sadio Mané, the Egyptian Mohamed Salah and the Cameroonian Vincent Aboubacar.
Moreover, the coach of Morocco, Walid Regragui had been elected third best national coach in the world, by the IFFHS, behind the Argentine Lionel Scaloni and the coach of the French team, Didier Deschamps.
