Morocco Dominates Maghreb Team of the Year with Six Players Selected
Six Moroccan internationals are among the best football players of the year in the Maghreb.
According to the newspaper L’Équipe, which unveiled the best Maghreb XI of the year, several Moroccan players have stood out this year through their performance, both in club and national team. Evidenced by the historic run achieved by Morocco at the World Cup in Qatar.
Thus, in the Maghreb team of the year 2022, the French newspaper in collaboration with Maghreb FC, the blog of sports commentator Nabil Djellit, have included six Atlas Lions. Morocco thus finds itself with the largest number of players within this team. These are Yassine Bounou, Achraf Hakimi, Nayef Aguerd, Sofyan Amrabat, Youssef En-Nesyri and Sofyan Boufal.
Arranged in a classic 4-3-3 formation, this team also consists of 3 Algerian players, Ramy Bensebaïni, Ismaël Bennacer and Riyad Mahrez and 2 Tunisian players, Montassar Talbi and Aïssa Laïdouni. On the Moroccan side, we also find on the bench players such as Romain Saïss, Noussair Mazraoui, Azzedine Ounahi and Hakim Ziyech.
