Morocco’s Defensive Trio Named to World Cup Quarter-Final Best XI Ahead of France Clash

Three Moroccan players are in the quarter-final team-of-the-tournament of the World Cup. Qualified for the semi-finals, Morocco will play against defending champions France.
They are defenders Achraf Hakimi and Romain Saiss and defensive midfielder Sofyan Amrabat. These players stood out in their respective positions, according to Onze Mondial.
Achraf Hakimi, the Parisian full-back, held his rank during this phase. The same goes for central defender Romain Saiss who, despite his discomfort in the left thigh, locked down the Moroccan penalty area. Finally, Sofyan Amrabat, as in the round of 16 against La Roja, caused huge difficulties for the Portuguese midfielders, unable to link up with their attackers.
The other players in the quarter-final team-of-the-tournament are: the French Olivier Giroud and Aurelien Tchouaméni, the Croatian Bruno Petkovic and his teammates Luka Modric, Josko Gvardiol, Dominik Livakovic, the Argentine Lionel Messi and his teammate Marcos Acuña.
