Moroccan Singer’s Trial in ’Hamza Mon BB’ Scandal Delayed Until June

The singer Dounia Batma and the three other defendants in the Hamza mon bb case will have to wait until June 11 to know their fate. This is what the Court of First Instance of Marrakech decided on Thursday.
The postponement of the trial follows a request made by Dounia Batma’s defense, which submitted a medical certificate to the court justifying her absence. During this first hearing, which was held remotely, the defense lawyers of the other defendants, including Ibitissam Batma, filed a request for the release of their clients who are being prosecuted in custody. As for Dounia Batma, who is being prosecuted at liberty, the investigating judge had dropped the charge of participation in the fraud, reports the MAP.
The defendants are being prosecuted for "hacking the computer data system, deliberate participation in obstructing the functioning of this system, dissemination of images and statements of others without consent, dissemination of unfounded facts in order to harm the privacy of individuals and defamation" as well as for "participation and blackmail".
