Moroccan Singer Rym Fikri Faces Backlash in Emotional Return to Music After Husband’s Murder

Criticized from all sides after the kidnapping and murder of her husband, Moroccan singer Rym Fikri laments that her loved ones have abandoned her.
Absent from the music scene since the murder of her husband, Rym Fikri is making a comeback. A few days ago, she released "Daba Daba," a collaboration with the young artist Kouz-1. But this return of the singer is not pleasing to everyone. She is facing criticism on social media. In an Instagram live, she breaks down in tears. She explains that she has returned to the music scene with a broken heart and that it is her only source of income. "Music is my profession and I would be lying if I told you that I am happy," she confided.
Fikri said she was abandoned by people she considered close after the disappearance, kidnapping and murder of her husband. "When this problem happened to me, many abandoned me and I suffered shocks," she continued.
Rym Fikri’s husband had been kidnapped on February 8, near his home in Casablanca, by individuals who were aboard an SUV, before being murdered. His body was found in the bed of a river near Rabat. Shortly afterwards, the Casablanca police arrested six individuals, including a French national of Moroccan origin, the main suspect.
