Moroccan Singer Rym Fikri Speaks Out on Recovery After Husband’s Murder

A few months after the kidnapping and murder of her husband, Moroccan singer Rym Fikri is slowly starting to recover.
Rym Fikri had a hard time recovering. In a live stream on social media, she explains how she was able to overcome the shock she experienced, the death of her husband, and the criticism she faced for not respecting the mourning period ("idda") and returning to the artistic scene less than three months after the murder of her husband. The singer said she had followed hypnotherapy sessions to erase the events she experienced after her husband’s murder. She also shared photos of herself enjoying her summer vacation in the north of the kingdom with her friends.
Rym Fikri’s husband had been kidnapped on February 8, near his home in Casablanca, by individuals who were aboard an off-road vehicle, before being murdered. His body was found in the bed of a river near Rabat. Shortly afterwards, the Casablanca police arrested six individuals, including a French national of Moroccan origin, the main suspect. The investigation is ongoing to determine the hidden motives behind the murder of the singer’s husband. It would be a settling of scores between the victim and the main suspect.
