Moroccan Singer Karima Gouit Faces Trial for Allegedly Insulting Police Officer

Moroccan singer and actress Karima Gouit was prosecuted on bail for insulting a police officer.
According to sources close to the case cited by Rue20, the public prosecutor has set the first hearing of her trial for May 2. She also paid a bail of 5,000 dirhams.
The interpreter of Tamghra had been arrested on Thursday, April 18 on her arrival from London at Menara International Airport in Marrakech. She had then been brought before the public prosecutor on suspicion of insulting a police officer.
The details of the case and the exact circumstances of the alleged insult have not been communicated.
