Moroccan Singer Karima Gouit Faces Trial for Alleged Insult to Police Officer

Prosecuted on bail for insulting a police officer, Moroccan singer and actress Karima Gouit must appear before the court of first instance in Marrakech.
Karima Gouit’s trial continues before the court of first instance in Marrakech. On Thursday, the judge decided to postpone it to May 23. After the artist’s absence at the last hearings, the singer is required to be present at the next hearing. Since April 19, she has been prosecuted on bail (5,000 dirhams) for insulting a police officer.
Suspected of having insulted a police officer, Gouit had been arrested on April 18 at Marrakech’s Menara international airport after a stay in London.
