Moroccan Singer Arrested at Wedding Party for Violating COVID-19 Restrictions

Moroccan singer Abderrahim Souiri was arrested on Thursday, March 4, 2021, in the Ryad district of Rabat, for non-compliance with the state of health emergency. He risks a lot.
The arrest took place in a house where about forty people were participating in a wedding party in these times of Covid-19. Singer Abderrahim Souiri was the host.
The police officers arrested the homeowner and the singer, as well as six other people among the party organizers for violating the health measures enacted to counter the coronavirus, reports Barlamane.
This is not the first time that the police have arrested people during a wedding celebration for non-compliance with the state of health emergency. On January 14, 2021, Moroccan dancer Cheikha Trax was arrested at her home in Marrakech for the same reason. Her arrest followed the live broadcast on Facebook of a video of the artist’s wedding party with friends. About 37 people had been fined 300 DH for violating the state of health emergency.
