Moroccan Dancer Cheikha Trax Arrested for Violating COVID-19 Restrictions at Wedding Party

Moroccan dancer Cheikha Trax was arrested on Thursday, January 14, 2021 at her home in Marrakech for non-compliance with the state of emergency. She will be prosecuted at liberty following a decision by the Prosecutor of the King near the Marrakech court.
It all started with a video of the artist’s wedding party with friends, broadcast live on Facebook. She was intercepted by the Marrakech police, who burst into the premises where several guests were celebrating without respecting the health measures enacted to counter the coronavirus.
About 37 people were fined and paid the 300 DH fine for violating the state of health emergency.
As for the Moroccan star, she was taken to the police station before being released on the instructions of the King’s prosecutor.
