Moroccan Singer Cheikha Trax’s Trial Delayed in COVID-19 Restrictions Case

The Correctional Chamber of the Court of First Instance in Marrakech has postponed the trial of Moroccan star Cheikha Trax, who is being prosecuted while at liberty with her mother, for non-compliance with the state of health emergency. Her lawyer had filed a request that was deemed admissible.
March 5 is the new date for the singer Cheikha Trax to appear, reports Assabah. While she was celebrating her engagement to a Gulf prince on the night of Thursday, January 14 at her home in the Riad neighborhood of Marrakech in the presence of about forty women and other guests, the police arrived on the scene. She was arrested, along with her mother, for non-compliance with the state of health emergency.
She was questioned at the police station, released a few hours later, before being prosecuted while at liberty with her mother, for violating the state of health emergency. As for the guests, they were fined for non-compliance with health safety measures. Each of them paid a fine of 300 dirhams.
