Marrakech Police Raid Illegal Villa Party, Arrest 20 for Violating COVID-19 Restrictions

The non-compliance with the measures imposed by the fight against the spread of the coronavirus, led to the arrest of about twenty people, five of whom were placed in custody in Marrakech. They gathered in a villa for a party, in violation of the state of health emergency still in force.
The party interrupted by the police was taking place in a villa in the Oulja district of Marrakech. An initiative that goes against all the restrictions put in place by the authorities. Following calls from residents to complain about this violation of the state of health emergency, the police carried out a raid to suspend the party, which according to the revelers, would be organized to celebrate a birthday, reports Le360.
The organizers and guests were all taken to the police station. Five of the participants were placed in custody as part of the judicial investigation ordered by the Public Prosecutor’s Office. As for the others, they were forced to pay a fine, for "violation of the state of emergency".
Since March 20, 2020, when Morocco imposed restrictive measures to protect the population against the coronavirus, the mixed security forces deployed throughout the national territory are ensuring strict compliance and rigorous application of the measures of the state of health emergency, specifies the same source.
