Moroccan Security Forces Launch Sweeping Operations in Northern Forests to Target Criminal Networks

Several sweeping operations have been organized by the security services in northern Morocco, in order to neutralize dangerous individuals who would have taken refuge in the forests.

The Moroccan security services do not intend to lower their guard. Thus, after the dismantling of the Tamaris terrorist cell, which resulted in the arrest of all its members, they have set their sights on the north of the country, reports Al Massae.

Indeed, according to the daily, this area of the country would serve as a refuge for outlaws, who would be involved in human trafficking and criminal networks or have alleged links to terrorism.

According to the media, several hundred elements of the auxiliary forces and gendarmes have been mobilized to apprehend these troublemakers. Thus, last week, the forests bordering the city of Ceuta were combed through, in order to surprise the criminals and terrorists.

The security services, who have deployed large resources, using in particular helicopters and dogs, have discovered that these dangerous places also serve as a refuge for sub-Saharan migrants.

According to the same source, the elements of the Central Bureau of Judicial Investigation (BCIJ) are participating in these operations to dismantle criminal networks, in order to apprehend all the actively wanted individuals.
